Chelsey & Nick’s Love Story | A Woodsy Riverside Idaho Wedding

When Chelsey and Nick first contacted us, we knew we were going to have a great time with them. They love Seattle, dogs, National Parks, and anything outdoorsy and knew we were the wedding photographers for them – even before they knew where they’d be tying the knot! They ended up picking an awesome venue in the small town of Orofino, Idaho. The Lodge at River’s Edge was the perfect location for their woodsy Idaho wedding. The Lodge sat right at the edge of the Clearwater River, and was surrounded by mountains and forest. When we arrived in town, we spent a little while driving around to secure an awesome first look and portrait location, and ended up finding one right down the road, with access to the riverbed. One of our favorite things about wedding days is they are always filled with excitement. Sometimes it’s nervous excitement, other times happy excitement, and usually it’s a mix of both! Chelsey and Nick’s wedding day was mostly filled with happy excitement, and it showed most abundantly right before their first look. All that energy makes first looks so much fun to capture, as well as the following portraits. You can rarely wipe the smiles off a bride and groom’s face right after their first look. We especially love when we’re able to take a bride and groom away from the hustle and bustle (and stress!) of the wedding day and out into nature – since that’s where we often choose to go to deal with stress! Idaho is absolutely gorgeous, and we are so glad we got to experience the Orofino area through Chelsey & Nick’s wedding day!
