Adventure Wedding | Lake Tipsoo Washington

Summer and Jason were tugging at our heart strings a bit when they told us about their plans for their intimate Mount Rainier elopement. As photographers, we live to shoot weddings like this. We love weddings full of nature, incredible relationships, and rich emotions. Summer and Jason chose the perfect little cabin just outside of Greenwater, on the way to Tipsoo Lake, to get ready with their family. One of our favorite aspects of Summer and Jason’s Lake Tipsoo elopement was that they didn’t let “small, intimate, elopement” mean that they couldn’t go all out with the things they were passionate about. This was clear the moment we stepped into the little cabin. The first thing that greeted us was a small but stunning 2 tiered cake, and a beautiful tablescape filled with greenery and rustic cabin decor place settings for eight. We also had 4 full hours with them. Perfect for some getting ready shots, and a full sunset photo session in addition to their planned ceremony. Before getting ready, Summer and Jason had this awesome idea for a unity painting where they both painted halves of a circle on a canvas in the woods behind the cabin. It was such a simple but meaningful keepsake for them from their wedding day!

Once everyone was ready to go, we all drove up the mountain to Tipsoo Lake. Standing across the lake, we waited for Summer’s arrival. Watching Summer, their ring bearer and flower girls walk around the lake edge was the perfect lead up to their intimate ceremony. Since it was late August, the wildflowers were blooming all around. Jason’s father performed their ceremony by the edge of the lake. We had perfect solitude for their emotional ceremony. After their nuptials were exchanged, their family headed back to the cabin to prepare for dinner while we adventured around with Summer and Jason until the sun set.

It is hard to go wrong with an idea like having a summer mountain wedding, so don’t be afraid to follow in Summer and Jason’s foot steps. We would love for you to contact us about your Mount Rainier wedding plans!
