The forecast for Lake Cushman was nothing but rain, so we e-mailed Caitlin and John and gave them some options. Rain can be so frustrating for engagement photos. Not to mention the low clouds that usually come with it and hide the mountains from sight! Most couples would rather reschedule than risk the wet, but we got an enthusiastic “let’s go for it!” back – so we did. Our ride to the lake was dry, but the second we got out of the car at Lake Cushman we felt some drops. Thankfully, just as we were thinking about discussing our options the rain stopped as quickly as it started – and stayed away for the whole session! As much as we want to hide from the rain and wait for the perfect sunny day, we’re glad we have the occasional couple who is all for risking that forecast and dragging us out. Rainy days have a very distinct look, and the darker and moody feel was an amazing contrast against the bright yellow fall leaves! Lake Cushman continues to be one of our all-time favorite spots. Especially when it’s with an adventurous couple who’s up for anything!
