Lake Quinault Wedding | Olympic National Park

“Imagine your perfect wedding day nestled among a spectacular natural outdoor setting with fresh air, natural creeks and There are some places so blissfully disconnected from the modern world that they seem to stand suspended in time. Lake Quinault Lodge is one such place – a grand and rustic lodge built in 1926 that welcomes guests with warmth, hospitality, and a sincere feeling of home-away-from-home comfort.”

Alissa and Sean contacted us about their Lake Quinault Lodge Wedding, and right away we were pumped. The Lake Quinault Lodge has been on our bucket list for some time. Olympic National Park is a treasure trove of incredible locations to tie the knot. Either for big wedding ceremonies or small elopements. For a wedding ceremony, Lake Quinault Lodge is by far one of the best the park has to offer. As you can imagine we were very excited for Alissa and Sean’s big day. It was not just because of their choice of venue. Instead, because the two of them are incredible people we can easily picture ourselves having a drink with. We had such a fun time taking a ferry into Seattle for their engagement session last fall and getting to know them. This connection is what makes our jobs as photographers so special.

The day of the wedding we pulled up to the Lodge and saw it in person for the first time. The lodge emanates this incredible charm exclusive to the National Parks. It almost takes you back in time when you walk in. Alissa and Sean wanted to make full use of the incredible setting surrounding the lodge. For their first look we went straight for the old growth forest. It was the perfect setting for a couple so naturally and effortlessly in love as these two. The further we walked into the forest, the better things got. Eventually, we knew we had to turn back because Alissa and Sean had somewhere important to be.

The ceremony was on the lawn behind the lodge facing the lake. Their arbor was framed by a skyline of old spruce, fir, and cedar. After the ceremony, the guests were invited into the lodge for an intimate dinner and reception. Alissa and Sean were after our own hearts with their National Park table names – we did the same at our wedding! We ended the night by taking Alissa and Sean out onto the lawn for a final shot under the stars. Lake Quinault did not disappoint, and we would shoot there again in a heartbeat!
