Laura & Chris | Winter Lake Cushman Engagement Photos

It’s something special when a couple trusts us wholeheartedly with their engagement session location. We asked Laura and Chris if they’d be willing to come to the west side of the sound for their engagement photos, and when they agreed we knew we had just the spot. We had photographed an adventure session at Lake Cushman last year, but we knew we weren’t done with this spot just yet. We got to know Laura and Chris during our car ride around the Hood Canal, so when we hopped out of the car at the lake just outside Olympic National Park, we were excited to get them in front of our cameras and start capturing them together. We worked our way down the lake, following the sun that kept setting behind the foothills, creating multiple little sunsets and all around great light for the whole session. Laura and Chris were energetic, emotive, and up for anything. Including climbing down into a riverbed, climbing out onto a boulder, and, well, generally just climbing on anything on a whim. The grand finale of the session was when Joe led us down to a little cove he thought might have a view of sunset. We came around the corner and were greeted with the most amazing mountain view.
