Alpenglow Lodge at Arctic Valley Wedding | Destination Wedding
I still vividly remember when we received Katie and John’s inquiry for their Anchorage Alaska mountain wedding. We were packing up the car from an intense Costco run, and our business number rang. We chatted about their wedding for a little while wide eyed and dancing in our car in the Costco parking lot. Shooting a wedding in (or even visiting!) Alaska had been high on our bucket list!
After getting to know Katie and John through two awesome sessions, we knew we’d have a blast sharing in their celebration in Alaska. They both have fun-loving, adventurous personalities. Their highest priority for their guests flying up to Anchorage? For them to have fun and experience all the cool things Alaska has to offer!
Their wedding day ended up being fairly typical weather for Anchorage in early June. It was chilly, windy, and overcast. None of that phased anyone. Especially Katie and John. They had picked a park with a bluff overlooking the mountains for their first look. Even though the wind was gusting, Katie didn’t want to change a thing. She had even purchased Xtra Tuff boots for her bridesmaids to wear if it was cold and rainy – something they all appreciated! The one thing the weather prevented was rides up the chairlift. We were bummed not to get to the tops of the mountains, but the view at the lodge was still more than we could have asked for.
Everyone partied into the wee hours of the morning to amazing live music. It was a great trip!
